Engine light
Hey all, my engine light just came on. I took it back to the dealership hoping it was just something that could be reset but I was told that the cause was my after market exhaust and test pipes. I've had the exhaust and pipes on the car for about 6-8 months now. I was also told that the only way for them to figure out what's wrong with the car is for me to return it back to stock. Any insights? especially those who work t the dealerships?
Thanks
Glenn
Oh, It's a greddy exhaust and helix pipes and yes the O2 censors are on the pipes.
Thanks
Glenn

I have the same problem...my SES light came on and I reset the ECU and it came back on like 15miles after I reset it....now it didn't turn on until after I got the test pipes so I don't think it is a problem with the engine...but its weird because the o2 sims are in and still it gives the problem...anyone with insight?

O2 sims don't work -
You need HELP! nonfoulers:
HELP! Spark plug non fouler. Part 42002 (or 42009) from autozone.
Its a 2 pack, that you screw together, and then screw the open end into the o2, and the other into the bung. You need a pack for each bank - so 2 packs or 4 nonfoulers
You need to drill the outer nonfouler out on each bank with a 1/2" drill bit. This allows room for the o2 sensor to fit:
upon install each bank should look like this:
o2 sensor > Drilled nonfouler > NONdrilled nonfouler > Test pipe

Hey Ziv, did this but the light's still on. Does it take awhile before the ses light goes off?

few things:
1.) did you make sure you have two nonfoulers on each bank and that ONLY the outer of the two is drilled out on each bank?
2.) did you reset the ecu or have the code cleared once you installed the nonfoulers?
3.) If you answered yes to the above 2, please get the specific code that is being thrown.
If you did not reset the ecu or clear the code, the light may go off in a few miles, or it may not. Either way, you need to clear the code after the nonfouler install to be sure.

Hey Ziv, is there any way to reset it without taking it back to the dealer?

Otherwise, you can unbolt the battery cable and let it sit for about an hour or so, and that will reset the code.
