Unhappy New 350Z, Touring ... Died

My three week old 350Z Touring model died while I was driving it. It would not restart. Watching your brand new car be towed away is not fun.

The dealer has run 'extensive' diagnostics, for which he claims the results are not previously seen by Nissan Tech-support. Therefor, the conclusion is that the computer is toast. A new one will be installed in approx five days. That 'should' fix the problem. More disturbing is the fact that this dealer stated that this is the second new Z in a week to present with same symptoms. Has anyone else had/heard of this problem?

Did the dealer say whether the first Z that died was also a Touring model?

Touring also.

The car was perfect.
No signs of other problems whatsoever as listed on this ng.

The power loss came without warning, and similarly effected all driving controlls. Totally not cool if it happens when you're really pushing the car.

Instead, I just ended up pushing the car. Which by the way makes you look very stupid, cause everybody is already looking at the car. A guy in a mustang laughed at me. Its ok, I got his plate.

This might be a silly question . Did you put a hyper-ground system on your car ?

It is a series of cooper cables that grounds the car better than what comes from the factory. Do a search for more info. Many people have installed it on their Z's, including me. It smoothed out my rough idle and lowered the idle some. Without a good ground weird problems can happen electricaly.

5 days . . .yikes.

My BCM (body control module) went bad and it took 3 business days. Infact that was over the holidays too.

Thumbs down Shift_Poop

Day 8.

Dealer says part (ECM) can not be located in supplier inventory.
The parts representative has been in meetings, and can not be contacted.

Talking to NNA rep = same bs.

IL lemon law: 7 days down 23 to go.
At this rate I'll be half way to a total refund before the car is one month old. I am so disapointed right now.

Does anyone know the name of a VP at NNA?
Do they all hide in meetings too?

Hey ALPHAZ -
I saw in your signature that you're running Redline MT-90 in your 6sp tranny. What if any difference has it made to the shifter feel/performance? I'm thinking about doing the same...
Thanks,
Mika
