Default Mine too

Yup, my car is going in on Dec 9th as well for inspection by Nissan people. Dealer just did alignment check and said everything was in spec. I'll real interested to see what Nissan people find or don't find.....

6500 miles on my front S03's and they are destroyed.

wow, ive been reading this post for months, and its finally happened to me. My car is in the shop right now for feathering, cant wait to hear what they have to say about it. Only 4900 miles and I can barely stand to drive my car without the music turned all the way up. We'll see what happens.

Default Update... again

We'll there must be some mass inspection - NNA contacted me only one day after I filed the LL claim that BBB told me to proceed forward with since they feel Nissan is not addressing the problem. NNA wants to conduct the final inspection of the Z at another dealership in Jacksonville, FL. They do not want me to return to the dealership I bought the Z at and returned to 8 times.

Does Nissan not trust the current dealership I've been dealing with? I personally feel the curent dealership has jumped through every hoop they could. The car just flat out has issues.

To me it's like an expensive girlfriend, you can never keep her happy.

More updates to follow....

I have been told the S-Tune suspension fixes the problem. If this is true the problem must be the OEM shocks or springs...... I know the shocks are terrible.

Default suspension

If the problem is the shocks and/or springs will the tire feathering fix also correct the ride/bounce issue?? Maybe its me but it seems my car is bouncing more on the freeway then it used too.

Took a long drive over the Holiday and to tell the truth I felt like I had been shaken like a bad martini. I know the freeways here in calif. are not the best but this was extreme.

It's the same in Maryland, if you're not driving on a fresh blacktop highway, "Hold on to your seat, you're in for a bumpy ride".

Yes, that is why I am thinking of getting the Nismo S-Tune.

If it is a shock and/or spring defect, I'd like to see what Nissan will do for a warranty repair instead of dipping into my pocket to fix this with NISMO's "S" set-up.

Unfortunately, all of us will have to continue to wait for this.

If the Bridgestone S-03s aren't the replacement tire for the Re040s; what is this "mystery tire" that's always out-of-stock?

Does anyone know?

Bouncy, yes I experienced the samething on I-44 highway during a run from Springfield Missouri to Joplin Missouri and return. If it was fresh blacktop it was smooth as glass, if it was the old surface it was bouncy, got to admit my old NSX did not bounce like that on a rough surface. It's like the shocks are firm like a sports car on a smooth surface and it changes to a short wheel based luxury car with soft shocks on the rough surface, very strange. What kind of shocks are these???

Anyone that lives in the Chicagoland area and drives on 355 or 88 or 294, knows this car is way bouncy.

Im waiting for one of those chocolate milk commercials to feature our car as a way to shake it up!

I don't think the 2 issues are related. I have had 2 sets of tires cup but I have never had the bouncing problem. I have taken several 1000+ mile trips on all kinds of highways and never experienced the bounce, my suspension is completely stock. I think some of the OE shocks must be worse than the OE tires the way some of you talk.

Also, that Automobile Mag tester bitching a few posts back must be one jaded moto journalist. I have been using my Z for a daily driver for 16 months & it is still the highpoint of my day

Another question, I cant get the NNA or the Nissan dealers around here to replace my tires. Does anyone know of any dealers in the Chicagoland area that will replace the front tires, not just rotate the front 2 and align?

I haven't had the tire issue yet, but you may want to post this at www.chicago350z.com to see where others have gone.

Good Luck.

Question

I just took my car in today. I'm up to 9700 miles and the loud front end noise is unbearable between 20-30mph.

My service guy took it out for a spin and obviously heard it to. He talked with his manager and I guess they talked to someone at NIssan about fixing it. They said they're going to install a part that should fix the suspension (I had a right drift too) and align the car.

They also said they'd try to get Nissan to replace my tires as they were cupped very badly. Apparently he talked to an engineer at Nissan and they told him that the Bridgestone Potenza 225's I have on my 6MT Touring aren't the best tires especially when it comes to wear. He wants to know if I'd be interested in trying something else out and I said I'd let him know on Monday.

I'd hate to have mismatched front and rear tires but if the Potenza's are junk should I go for it? Any recommendations for good tires?

Ok, I filed a complaint on the NHTSA site...I encourage others to do the same.

Normally you would not mix tires like that but since they are suggesting??? Also they are running different size tires front and rear so maybe this might not be that bad?? I would go with it and then get a letter from a tire authority that it is unsafe and take it to them and ask them to replace the rears If they don't then I would send them a letter stating that it is unsafe and that they will be liable for any loss that you encounter. I am sure they will then buy you new rear tires. I would do it if I got this offer.
