Subject: 2003-04 350Z Fuel Hose Voluntary Safety Recall Campaign Attention – Dealer Principals, Sales, Parts and Service Managers ***** Campaign Announcement *****

Nissan is conducting a safety recall on approximately 52,000 model year 2003-04 350Z vehicles. On some vehicles, the fuel filler hose may crack from exposure to ozone due to an inappropriate production quality control process. This could cause the malfunction indicator light (MIL) in the instrument panel to come on as a resultof the onboard diagnostic system detecting a leak in the evaporative emissioncontrol system and could also result in fuel leakage from the hose while refueling. To correct this condition, Nissan will replace the fuel filler hose with a new one.*****
Owner Notification *****
Nissan expects to start mailing of Owner Notification letters on February 13, 2006. A Recall Campaign Bulletin and an initial supply of parts will be provided to yourdealership prior to owner notification. Until specific recall campaign instructions become available, use existing warrantyprocedures to repair vehicles which exhibit this condition. If you have any additional questions related to this campaign, please contact your Dealer Parts and Service Manager (DPSM). Nissan Parts and Service Operations 12/15/2005

Since the announcement was made last week and it states that the letters aren't even going out till Feb 16 '06, I'd bet they haven't even started making replacement parts yet much less sending them to the warehouses. The announcement is probably just to give the dealers a heads-up on the situation so if somebody comes in with the problem, they won't waste a bunch of time and effort trying to solve it.
