Exhaust smoke on start up after being idle for a few days...
So! I leave my car sitting for a few days while away and i come back and give her a start. I see smoke and it doesn't go away right away. I rev the engine a few times and it becomes less and less till it finally disapates. What gives? Any thoughts?Keeping in mind of course during regular use from day to day I never see this.
Thanks,

I am almost sure it's white smoke. So I guess it is moisture. We have been seeing a lot of rain here in the Bay Area over the last month or so. The only thing that concerns me is the smell. There is an odor to the smoke like it could be burnt oil. But like I said it only happens when the car sits for a few days. (Which isn't that often)

I kind of had the same thing. car had been sitting about 2 weeks in the garage after a big snow. Started it up, idled for about 30 seconds, put it in reverse and POP! It backfired and a cloud of white smoke billowed out. Quickly dissipated and now I don't let it sit for more than a week without taking it out a little bit to warm the engine up.
