SS Brake Line install(Pics)
I installed some SS Stoptech brake lines on my Performance model this weekend. Lines and 3 bottles of Motul 600 were ~$200 from Street Sports. This was a very easy install and only took 2 hours. I first drained the factory DOT 3 fluid from all four brake lines. I replaced the rear lines first and then the fronts. The rear SS lines are exactly like stock. The front SS lines are 1 line rather than 3 lines in succession. You will need a 10mm flare nut wrench(brake lines), 10mm box wrench for the front caliper bleeder, and 8mm for the rear caliper bleeders. You will also need a 12mm & 14mm socket/wrenches to take off the old lines. If you are going to attempt this and do not have a service manual, it is straight forward accept for the brake bleeding succession. Brakes should be blead Left Rear, Right Front, Right Rear, Left Front in that order. Filling and bleeding with the new Motul 600 fluid only used ~750ml or one and a half bottles. I ordered 3 just in case and had lots to spare. Pics 1 & 2 are of the front, 3,4, & 5 are of the rear.

I drove it today and the feel is much stiffer. I may have had some air in my lines from the factory as I used to have to double tap the brakes to get resistance. Now the pedal feel is very stiff. I am going to some track days at VIR in 3 weeks and will give more feedback as to feel and fade after constant braking.

Dude, this s#*t is pretty f#*ked up here.
Ya know alot of people have two different symptoms on the same car. Seems to be the only two symptoms noticed.
Either brakes are great or you gotta double tap, as I have to do.
This is pretty wierd as Nissan is not a dopey company. I mean if they are passing so many cars off the line with air in the lines then they need to know about each and every car with the problem. I am going to bleed tonight and see if this solves my problem. If it does I am going to be on the phone with NNA the next morning.
I guess, even in Japan, it is possible to hire a cross-eyed mouth breather named cleetus-san to fill and bleed the brake systems.
Oh yeah - not an early VIN issue here- I got 009966.
