I got my car done today. Initially it didn't rev up the way it used to. Maybe because fuel lines were empty or something. Now it revs up just fine. I think the dealer at Mossy Nissan Poway in San Diego did a good job.
I will keep you guys posted if some complication develops.

for anybody who didn't know/was interested, there have been *0* reported incidents and this is only based off of *1* computer simulation.
it's pretty stupid, imho, to have an incompetent dealer basically tear apart 1/4 of your car to fix something that may, or may not, be a problem 20yrs from now, given the amount and type of work needed to be done

Did you notice it said that in May 2005, they received reports (not A REPORT) of the MIL light coming on due to cracks in the fuel filler house and then they did an investigation from May to November 2005 to determine the scope and safety iimpact. They then determined on Nov 21, 2005 that a recall should be conducted.
They mentioned the problem was due to "an inappropriate production quality control process."
If the hose fails on you, you could have a fire or an explosion. Even if you just have the MIL light symptom, they're going to have to get in there.
That said, I still worry about finding a good dealer given how big the job is and how many opportunities there are for error.

Fact
My friend is a tech at infiniti, plus i was bored today and called the 1-800 and the customer rep told the same story - 0 reported incidents, based solely on computer models
If you don't believe me call up the 1-800 # and ask how many reported incidents they've had

anyways, if you think it's a good idea to have an incompetent dealership tear apart your exhaust, suspension, drivetrain and *hope* it goes back together properly, well, more power to you. Me, I do NOT want my car to look like this in the shop (top pic):
Make sure you take your car in with less then 1/4 tank of gas, or they will not be able to do the fix... Drove 2 hrs to have Mossy Nissan in Oceanside to do it and I had to much gas in there
Guess I should of waited for the paperwork with the instructions to come in the mail before making an appointment to do it.

Oh well, it's up to the individual if they want to take the risk with the work or not, I'm just adding in my 2cents based on what both my friend and customer service are saying.
edit: what it *could* be is that the problem exists with the 350z and they just carried it over the g35 as well (i.e., the problem exists on 350zs, but hasn't been found other than 1 simultion trial on the g35).......maybe later I'll call up the nissan 1800# and see what they say as all my information comes from the infiniti side (and i just assumed that the fuel system would be identical in the 2)
