Default hard revving, shifting into 6th

ok, here it goes, maybe someone else has this problem.

Im driving spiritedly, rev high in 2nd, dont redline. then maybe hit 3rd for a bit, maybe not, but then I dont want to speed and Im doing atleast 55-60mph so I go into 6th gear. but it wont let me... no matter how hard I try it wont go. I have to double clutch to get it in, or go into another gear.

whats up with this? something about a manual that Im missing that wont let me do this?

Every now and then it is difficult to get into 6, but not impossible. I think it is more apparent if I try to go to 6 from 4 rather than from 5 to 6.

nope, sorry I've never came across that problem before. Mine goes right into 6th smoothly. Maybe it's something you should have looked at.

I went out and tried it also...no problem. Shifted easily no matter what I did. Others have complained of difficult shifting when the transmission is cold. I agree that you should get it checked by the dealer.

I dont think this is really a problem. I dont know how my Z reacts, because I always quickly shift into all gears sequentially, to get where I want to be, just dont let the clucth out. Skipping gears causes the synchros to work harder I believe. in the past, Ive noticed skipping made it more difficult to get into gear, so now I dont skip, just run thru the gears quickly, and THEN let out the clutch in the last gear.

not gonna bother with the dealer honestly. theyll want to reproduce the problem which will just be them redlining the engine and I know it wont do it. so... guess ill life with it untill it gets worse or better.

Ill try going through the gears from now on tho.

I have had that problem. Its the synchros. You have to hold the clutch down for awhile or rev match and shift without the clutch for it to go in. I noticed it also when I tried shifting from 5th to 6th under heavy acceleration.
