Default Service Engine Soon light!

I turned 11,500 miles on my '04 Z and the 'Service Engine Soon' light came on! What the hell is that (I bought the car in Jan. and still don't have the owners manual, so pardon me if this info is in there... the dealer keeps telling me that they have ordered it!)? Does anyone know how to turn it off?
Thanks

you shouldnt just turn it off. take it to the dealer if it still under warranty...thats your check engine light..meaning something could be wrong.

+1 on above. Make use of the warranty while it lasts! Yes, it can be turned off quite easily; a search on these forums would bring up many results. But why bother when you don't have to?

You can download a copy of your Owners Manual directly from Nissan:

Go to autozone and get the code checked for free, before you take it into the dealer.

Then you will know if the dealer is bullsh1tting you. "Oh you need a new xxxxxx, and it's not under warranty"

Thanks Fellas, I didn't realize that was the check engine light. I thought it was some cheap marketing ploy to try to force us to use the dealer for basic maintenance!
