Default Driver side window auto rolls half way down

I just got my Z about 2 weeks ago, love it. It was in a front end wreck about a year ago so it has some issues.

Do all Z's driver side windows automatically roll down half way? What I mean is that I have to hold the button/lever back for about 2-3 seconds to get it to stay up and not roll back down to the half way point. Is this standard or is there something wrong?

There is somethin wrong and I don't know what it is exactly. But DON'T hold the button like that. Roll the window up manually.

Either reset the motor or get the motor replaced. I have attached a Nissan bulletin link to the motor reset below. I had the exact same problem and brought it to my dealership. And they replaced the motor under warranty. Problem went away.

350Z windows do not work. They will either stay up, stay down, or do crazy a crazy up-and-down dance. Its something that we learn to live with.

Crossing my fingers that my '05 windows keep on working. I already had the rear axle clicking... I wonder if my tranny will blow up next

Ok, thanks a lot. Is it pretty involved in removing the door panel? I just came out of a Lexus and everything is overengineered in that car.

The door panels are VERY easy to get apart. I just replaced my window regulator last night hoping that would fix the problem, and that it wasnt the motor...but it is definately the motor. Im gonna try to clean it tonight, and see if I can get away with that. I'd rather not replace the motor...its a little pricey. But if I do...at least it will be easier than the regulator.
