Default Engine warning lights

I have an '05 350ZR (6 speed) with about 20,700 miles on it. It has been running fine.

I went out this AM to do an errand and when I got back in & started the car I had no power at all. In neutral I couldn't get the engine to rev past 1,500 rpm or so. Also, I had the "Service engine soon" light on as well as the "TSS" and "SLIP" lights on. I had never had any of them come on before. I turned off the engine, got out the manual to look at the Warning Light section. After reading a bit I started the car and everything seemed normal. The "Service engine soon" was still on, but the other two warning lights went off. I was able to get home just fine and the engine seemed as strong as ever.

Anyone else have this problem? Should I take it into Nissan for a chek up?

Default Hey

Sounds like a MAF problem, do you have a cold air intake of some sort? If some water was accidently ingested into the intake, it could temporarily damage this mass air flow sensor. You have to get the vehicle scanned by a technician with an OBD 2 scanner to see what trouble code you have. The code will indicate what the problem is(what needs to be fixed). You have low miles, so something is out of order. The code/s is what triggered these lights. You don't really have to go to the dealer for this, unless that is your preference. Good luck.

stylinZ,

Thanks for the quick response. My Z is stock. Nothing fancy going on.

I will take it into the local Nissan store next week.

Here is a follow-up:

Took it into Pinnacle Nissan & had them check out the 'puter.

"Found a P2135 code for the TP sensor. There was an open in the throttle E actuator. Installed new actuator & relearn idle."

Whatever that means... All seems to be OK now.

Glad to hear it's going ok. Probably means an open circuit. Weird, but I guess a faulty TP sensor actuator could be possible. That would in turn send wrong signals to the Ecu to significantly affect rpm idle. Gotta love these computers, right? I am going to take a look at this sensor when I get some free time...I am pretty curious about this.
