Default fuel gauge going crazy

hey guys, this is my story....i took my car in to the dealer so they can do the fuel whose recal and when i got the car back my guage for reading gas is nuts...first time i fill up it only showed 3 qrts....then i start the car later that day and its full....and its really being random...almost every time i start the car it will give me a different reading...and ill be driving the instead of the needle going down...it actually goes up sometiems...ill start with a quarter of gas and get to my destination and have more gas then i started with....lol

went to the dealer and they are claiming they had nothing to do with it and that a need a new sensor for it thats 245.00 !!! i argued wit them and they keep saying that the recall doesnt even touch that part of the system....what should i do guys?? and what exactly is wrong with it..?? 245.00 for a sensor also seems over priced.....i need help guys...

Not likely a blown fuse. If the fuse was blown, it won't work at all, not randomly like you're seeing. Probably is the sensor. Not sure if the $245 is "overpriced" or not. It's probably something that you can only get from Nissan so you may not have a choice.

Chances are pretty good that the fuel hose fix mucked it up but the hard part will be convincing the dealer that they were at fault.
