Default Technical question

Hello to all..

newbie here,

The dealer told me that I must replace my fuel pressure regulator in the engine compartment on my '03 350Z.

Just wondering if any of you had the same condition?
Does any one know of a write up on this subject?

thanks in advance for the replies

This car actually belongs to my bro.
He wrote the first post, but I will take over for now.
I am a GM technicien, don't have much experience with Nissan.
My brother says that there is some kind of noise coming from the engine when reving.
He brought it to a Nissan dealer and they told him that he needs to replace both fuel pressure regulator/dampner assemblies.
Part #22675-AM600
Part #22675-5Y760
I am just trying to figure out why they would want to change these items.

I called the Nissan parts advisor and he was able to tell me that they do replace these items a lot but does not know for what reason.

I have yet to attempt to repair this unknown vehicule, I just wanted to get a baseline before getting involved.

Please chime in guys,
this seems to be very ressourcefull(is that spelled right?) forum....

thanks for the replies

Are there any symptoms of something wrong? Car stuttering, etc.? Then why would he tell you that? You don't have to replace the fpr or fuel filter as part of the 350Z maintenance.

They are both reffered to as Dampers ---22675-AM600 was superseeded by 22675AM60A----Low price 65.00 --90.00 MSRP ---If they are what I think they are ,, they are easy to get too ---All I can say is FPRs do go out and sometimes tend to leak when they do

I do not know if they are leaking.
I will get to look at the car this weekend.
Maybe mesure the rail pressure at the same time.

I will keep you guys posted

Thanks for the replies so far

P.S. Does anyone know what is the spec for the fuel rail pressure
at key 'on' and at 'idle' ?

This should be covered under the power train warranty.

the fuel system is not usually considered 'powertrain'. I just got hit with a large bill on a fuel pump replacement still under the "power train " warranty. Ugh
