Last night i was coming home from work and my brake light indicator was on while i was driving . now i messed w my e brake to see if it was still engaged a bit but it wasnt. it stayed on for about 2 miles then turned off. iv noticed also under heavy breaking it turns on for a few seconds . i also dont hav an owners manual, and the and i hav hard feelings for the dealer(long story) so im turning to the boards.

Brake fluid is low - most likely because your brake pads are getting worn. Check the pads before even thinking about adding more brake fluid.

I don't know about the Z specifically, but this usually means you're low on fluid, or you have a problem with your brakes

1) Your "brake light indicator" serves 2 functions. It alerts you that the park brake is engaged, and it also alerts you that you brake fluid reservoir is not full. This can result from a leak, or more likely, the wearing in of your brake pads. Check the fluid reservoir and top off.

2) You can get an Owner's Manual from any Nissan dealership, or order one direct from Nissan.

I had this problem recently. Soon, that BRAKE light will also trigger the VDC and SLIP lights. That just means that you're low on brake fluid or your pads are worn.
