Orange Peel seems to be a factory defect that clay bar does not fully correct.

Had to upgrade suspension to get the ride like it should have been for a sports car with it's power

Big storage area behind my seat keeps coming off the hinge.

Vision not that great in rear window but I have grown used to it (and this is without spoiler.)

Wouldn't trade my car for anything it's in price range, love it and so does everyone else.

I say they stop making them so they are not everywhere like stangs maro's etc.

I still get eye and jaw dropping stares and questions and I have had mine since November!

Good thread Ares

What I find most comforting is the big fat zero under electrical problems!

Stock Stereo is N/A to me as is alarm!

I have the window streak (both sides) and the tire feathering problem. I changed tires at and had the toe in reset at 6400 miles and am experiencing feathering again at 9500. All else goes well...hope this alignment problem can be solved

Steering rack replaced due to leaking.

Rear end gears replaced (setup improperly at the factory caused whine).

Grease streak on driver's side window.

All that within 2000 miles

Only 3 problems? You are lucky, some have had more and the TSB just came out on the grease streak. Read it elsewhere on a new thread.

Have window streak...so what?
This is the first year for this model and "bugs" are to be expected...have owned several japanese made models and all of them had some foibles...nothing major as compared to a new American made car!
Maybe should have waited for the 2nd generation BUT I HAD TO OWN IT NOW!!!!

Hey, I fixed my quote deal, AnwayZ...

I agree 100%, I like to buy ahead of the curve. Next year around Christmas 2004 they will be everywhere. I have never beena good person at waiting and it usually ends up costing me.

Mine is still turning heads. People have thought it is everything from a Porche to a Lexus

Of course they have a beatiful track sitting right out front on Fulton for about 8 grand cheaper than it was in Nov 2002 when I bought my Touring and that is like getting smacked in the face but life goes on I guess. You still will be hard pressed to find a Daytona Blue Auto on any day in my city which is fine by me, especially a modded one

Default Frickin' Rock Chips

One week after getting my redline, one nice chip in the hood all the way down to the primer. Week two, another. After 5 weeks, several on the front bumber, one on the back quarter-panel. What the hell is going on here? After fighting with two different service departments, I broke down this weekend and got the touchup paint. Now I have texture globs, but I can't see the primer anymore. Oh **** I'm sick. Recently noticed a "catch" in the manual trans entering 3rd & 4th gears. This is becoming kind of like a bad marrage to a sexy chick.

Don't worry about the chips, let the paint cure a little and gently sand them down w/a fine sandpaper, others may have a better idea. You'll barely notice them. If the catch starts to grind a tiny bit, call NNA, open a case file, then take it to your dealer for verification. There have been some problems with the 6MT, but don't think its just bad, check your shift technique and Don't get lazy shifting.

If the clutch isn't completely depressed, it will grind and you will see it get worse. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you are a lousy driver, but some of us have been spoiled by how easy it is to shift a trans w/a cable linkage. The MT is NOT a cable linkage and you will need to be precise in your shifting, this trans will not accept sloppy gear changes.

I have the following problems/annoyances:

1. Windows streak on both side

2. Paint chips on front bumper. Also the front bumper acts like a big fly swatter because it seems to catch EVERY bug on the road. This is so annoying especially after the car has just been washed.

3. Passenger visor rattles

4. Notchy transmission at times

5. Ride is bouncy over some roads but this is a sports car after all.

No tire feathering @ 1900 miles

Paint chips on the front bumper of a low sports car are a friggen annoyance on such a beautiful car (I have them)

as did all my low to the ground sports cars, I do not consider this a maintenance problem.

Just my 2 cents.

Chips happen.

Re: Bugs

I'm happy that I now live in S. Pa instead of upstate New York. The bugs were awful for those years.

10000 miles as of today.
-Window grease problem on both sides

-Paint chips: on hood (after 1 week of owning), two on the side of the car - in front of door handle and one on rear fender (odd places!) Front bumper looks 5 years old (having it repainted this week, shop is waiting for factory paint pack to arrive)

-For about 2 months now I've had a rumbling, or scratching sound of some sort coming from driver side front wheel area. Brakes? Suspension? Bearings? Can't tell, and either can the dealer yet...anyone else have this problem? Starts around 30+ MPH and can be heard until about 55 mph (then there is to much road noise to hear it). Window must be down, but it is progressively getting worse

-A few rattles here and there, nothing to bad though

Other than that I love the car. Still gets the looks and the questions everyday.
Anyone know how many they are producing yearly? I thought they were going to be somewhat limited.

Brought Z in for front end noise, found out tires are "cupping" do to incorrect alignment. I have looked at the "feathering" post, has anyone gotten their tires replaced by Nissan without a fight do to the fact these cars are coming from the factory out of spec? What is the easiest way to handle this situation? Any insight would be great, I'll post over there too! Thanks.
