Default Exhaust Rattle???

I have a 2006 base with 13k miles. Under acceleration I hear a rattle that I think is the exhaust. I took it to the dealer and said was "bad gas" but, all I run is Chevron or Exxon 93. They checked the exhaust and said everything was tight. What do you guys think?? Thanks.

This sounds like the "axle clicking noise" TSB. Is it primarily in 1st gear (faintly in 2nd) when you accelerate? This is a very simple TSB for the dealership to fix; took mine an hour to fix while I waited. Does it sound like the clicking of two spoons or metal against metal? Do a search for "axle clicking" in this forum -- that should help you.

Hey thanks. I'll get them to check it out. It clicks all the way to fourth and when when I'm in sixth and accelerate, it will click.

+1 on the axle click if your under warranty simply bring it in and mention that there is a TSB on it which they can look up and know exactly what to do to fix it not costing you a dime. GL

I have an 06' with 18K miles and the same clicking noise Fttl is talking about. I thought it was in my Borla exhaust but I took it off and installed my factory exhaust, everything was tight down under and the clicking is still there. It is not as amplified with the stock exhaust. Mine sounds like a loose heat shield? I hear it when sitting still, when the rpms are winding down between 1.5k and 2.5k and when accelerating. Anyone have any ideas?

With only 18k miles I'd take it to the dealer under warranty

the axle click is gonna be low in frequency and a heat shield rattle is gonna be higher in frequency.

When I get out of my car my exhaust clunks

Check this link out but don't panic by the long list. These are just the bulletins Nissan has released for known issues. Not all are critical but if you think you might have an issue, this is the first place you should check to see if it'll be covered under warranty. Most TSB's are.
