Exclamation ***Window grease TSB is out!***

Nissan issued a TSB today regarding the window streak that has plagued many of our cars. They now have a repair kit that your dealer can order to eliminate the streaks. I do not know what all is contained in the kit, but will let you know once it comes in.

The TSB reference # is NTB03-029 and the classification # is BT03-010.

I would call your dealer and get the kit ordered ASAP as I imagine the demand will be quite high...

GOOD NEWS!

UPDATE:

I called both NNA and my dealer to get more information. This TSB was released last night, which means it will NOT be in the system yet. When you speak to your dealer you need to tell them to check in the "Live Update" section to download this TSB. Most likely the dealers are checking whats 'in the system' meaning what they get sent on a CD every two weeks. I verified both the Ref # and Classification # and both are correct. In addition, I have a part number as well although it is brand new and also not 'in the system.' The part number is 80327CD025 and is called a 'Door glass stopper kit.' From what the service manager could tell it is essentially redesigned regulator felt pads.

Hopefully this will clear things up for you all!

taking off the panels doesn't mean they're getting damaged. many of us have done this to replace speakers. it was designed to go together, therefore it can come apart. don't let that ruin it - if you got streaks, get it done!

its all held by screws, so no clips to damage, taking off the door panel didnt hurt my car at all.

Just phoned my dealer to find out that because I am Canadian they will not do anything with regards to the TSB until it is released in Canada ... sigh.

Apparently that is the American TSB for American cars and my for my Canadian car the problem does not exist yet.

Got to love the BS you have wade through to get anything done. Anyone have that call Nissan and complain number handy so I can perhaps find out when they are going to release a Canadian TSB?

Regards,
Kevin

Called the dealer. This TSB number is not showing up in their system right now. Anyone else had a successful call to their service dept yet?

That's great news! Don't fear them taking apart anything. Come on now. If its at the dealer, the work is covered under warranty, as is the car, so everything will be righted if wronged. (and at no cost to you)

Same here. Service guy just called me back and said that the TSB is for the Altima and he also said the following, LOL...

He's never heard of a window grease streak problem with the 350z before.

Don't know about the Altima thing, but I got the same answer from a second dealer. Anyone out there get a positive hit?

Alright I just talked to my dealership and this is what they told me:

- It is covered under warrenty, so they cannot ship it out, the dealer you bought it from would have to fix it (I'm not sure if there can expections for you who bought from far away)

- Takes about 1-2 hours to fix

- The repair has something to do about taking the complete door panel off and tweaking something (she couldn't remember exactly what)

Hope this helped somewhat!

Thanks for the update, POWERZ.

I called the dealer again today, who originally had referred to his CD, explaining, as you suggested, that he look instead under "Live Update." Apparently, he's never done this before but has promised to try again.

Sheesh!
