Default Tranny or clutch?

My car idles normal sounds normal and everything revs normal, just when i try to pull off it just revs as if the clutch was gone and the car will not move. However yesterday nothing was wrong with the car clutch has not been slipping at all and i only have 19xxx miles on the car. Is this really my clutch or could it be the transmission or something else?

Sounds like your clutch is gone...what do you feel when you stomp on your clutch pedal?

If clutch isnt grabbing its def the clutch...... get it looked at... oh at 19000 you could def need clutch depending on the driver.....

it could be the clutch but you would think it would be slipping. mine slips occasionally and i have no other problems.

although maybe i'm just not picturing the problem correctly. i would just take it to the dealer...easiest way to find out.

When you say the car will not move, do you mean it won't move at all regardless of what gear, like it's 100% in neutral? Clutches typically gradually wear out... they don't generally just stop working one day... sounds to me like its not getting in gear...

Ive tried all gears, none of them would move the car even an inch. The clutch petal feels the same as it always has. I know its not me because ive driven manual cars before never had the clutch blow out like this, and my rsxs clutch slipped so i know what it feels like for it to slip. I have it going into the dealer tomorrow and they said they're going to cover it under warranty if it is the clutch, but i just want to know what is wrong with me car.

Well if you're having it looked at tomorrow... you will know whats wrong soon enough... better than an internet diagnosis anyway...

Let us know what it turns out to be....

The dealer took the clutch apart and said that the clutch itself shattered and theres barely any wear on the pressure plate therefore it is not driver and a default in th clutch. He didnt want to cover it under warranty because it has 19000 miles on it and warranty for the cltuch goes out at 12000 miles. So i called 1800nissan1 and filed a complaint and they are going to cover it. But any ideas on how a clutch shatters?

Usually when they "deface" it has been overheated. Organic linings dont take heat very well. Once they get over heated to many times they tend to come apart which is probably what happend.
