Low tire pressure warning problem
After a couple of days of not driving, I get in my car, just to be annoyed by the low tire pressure warning. I get out & see that the pressure looks just fina, like all the other wheels, the monitor shows 24psi... wtf?
By the way, this has been happening for the last few weeks.
I haven't checked the actual pressure with any other monitors, since the one I did have doesn't work right. Anyone have any comments, suggestions?
Maybe there actually is a slow leak & I'm an idiot... haha

My suggestion is to go and buy a manual tire gauge and see what it reads....if it's low, then there's your answer....if not , then you might have something wrong with the actual sensor itself.

A) Check the preassure with a gauge, the tire could be low and not look like it.
B) Once you are sure the sensor is out of whack, go to your dealer to have the sensor fixed/replaced. You should be under warranty, no?
Those things are like $250 a pop, so I would take it to the the dealer for a fix.
Mine came off the lot not marking on the front right. After a few days, I took it back, they re-programmed it that one sensor, no problems since.
And, don't worry. At this time the jury is still out on the "idiot" thing...

Check out my thread.

After you go there, come back and read the solution to the problem.
Got back from the dealer and it's fixed. Simple recalibration as bobbyz pointed out. The tech hits a certain button somewhere by each wheel that recalibrates the pressure to the correct number. 5 minute job, no unmounting of the rims or tires. Also took care of an oil change since I hit 1200 miles this week. Only took me four months to get to 1200! Damm winter.
Oh yeah, he said it should have been done at PDI before you take delivery.
