Question rpm's tach stuck??

I was driving my Z today when I noticed that the rpm tach dropped below 1000rpm as I shifted to 1st and 2nd gear, shut the car off and started her up again and rev her up but rpm's did not move. Minute or so later the tach started to read normal again. My car has only 12,000 miles this is the only problem since I got her one year today. Has this happen to anyone else?

I'm pretty sure that all tachometers are electric today. You are under warranty. Just go have the dealer take care of it and if it doesn't act up when they check it out, at least it will be on record if it occurs again.

The dealer won't be able to replicate it. Do a search. It's especially common in Roadsters because it has something to do with the sun hitting the tac. Shade the tac with your hand when it happens and it should return to operating normally.

I'm thinking of tinting my gauges in the ZR and see if that alleviates the problem.
