Angry leak from valve stem

Got some new tires 3 weeks ago and i have been experiencing slow leak from one of the tires. The shop (my local Discount Tire Center) thinks it is coming from the valve stem (part of Tire Pressure Sensor) and they said it needs to be fixed at the dealer. I then stopped by the dealer and the service advisor thinks the rubber grommet in the TPS/Valve stem needs to be replaced. Is this expected wear and tear or did the Discount Tire Center screwed up my install? Worst case, I will pay for a little rubber grommet and round and rebalance one tire.
If it weren't for the fact that I got a really good internet price on the tires (BFGoodrich KDW-NT) and a $40 rebate on top of that, I'd be really pissed.

Discount Tire Center is not the best place for 350Z wheels with TPMS. Ask for a shop recommendation in your regional forum.

Actually, my regional forum gave good review for Discount Tire Center. I thought their staff was pretty friendly and the price was better then other shops.

Where on the net did you get a really good price + $40 rebate? I need tires (I ALWAYS need tires) and a reasonably priced source for BFGs would be welcome.

Hmm for only tire replacement there should be no problem with the valve stem leaking. Have you tried tightening the hub on the valve stem (it the metal part right under the cap)? Also, if they did replace your valve stems, they should have replaced the rubber grommet seal assembly (its supposed to be replaced when changing stems). This isn't "required" for it to seal, but depending on how old your tires are, the rubber's elasticity and hence sealing properties may not be that hot anymore. G/L!

Ya.. The guy at Discout Tire Center tightened it outer valve stem nut when the first time I brought the car back due to slow leak in tire pressure. I checked it with my own hand tools. This is the 3rd set of tires for me Z (counting the POS OEM RE40's).
Anyhow, my local Mossy Nissan said the grommet will arrive next week. Hopefully that will solve the slow leak issue.

Thats cool. I can't believe they don't have any grommets in stock though. Seems like a simple item to have on hand. Meh. BTW I like your avatar. Kickass movie.
