Default question about aftermarket flywheels

I've had a jwt clutch/flywheel combo installed for about a year now. I expected to get some chatter from it at low rpm which i did. However theres another noise that drives me nuts. At idle when in neutral there is a very loud rattling noise coming from the transmission. If i have the windows down or dont have music playing i can hear it, and its annoyingly loud. Now when i push the clutch the noise goes away, let the clutch out the noise comes back. Also, the car does not make this rattling after being started for the first time in the morning, has to heat up first. Is this something thats normal or is it another problem? I've been told by several people that its not from the jwt flywheel, but i'm not sure if i believe them or not.

I had that same problem but with just the stock clutch and flywheel, that was the start of things to come. Long story short my car is at the dealership now getting a new clutch assembley, hopefully that will end it. My car ended up not even going into gear while the car was running. You might want to get it checked out.

if it had been doing it before i had the jwt setup installed i would have taken it in, i just find it odd that it started doing it after the install.

Does your car ever shudder when you put it into gear? I have also heard that the slave cylinder is the culprit but im really not sure yet

You have a throw out Brg makeing some noise, sounds to me. Not the end of the world yet ---When you are in neutral it is rattling and when you put a load on it --it stops. Next few months you should address it unless you want to take it to the installer and pitch a fit ---He may take care of it for you

First thing in the morn ---the grease in the brg has a higher viscosity and has settled into the brg from when it was hot the day befor and parked--cold tolerances are different. As it warms the grease thins and centrifical force flings the grease off the brg, Hence---dry brg.

it was installed at sgp in may of last year, probably should have had it looked at after i had it installed. I thought the throwout bearing might be the cause of the noise.

Sometimes you get one that is a little defective ---Mine makes noise but its been 3 years, I keep tabs on it but arent too conserned yet.

Unless the Maniacs used the original, but I doubt it

i had the throwout bearing replaced at a nissan dealer in houston over the summer however the noise is still there. I noticed the exact same noise as soon as i got home from the dealer and have been dealing with it ever since. I'm about to take it in again next week to address the problem again. Is there anything else it could possibly be making the noise? I had a friend mention that it could be an input shaft bearing. Any insight on this? Has anyone else experienced this problem with their jwt clutch/flywheel?

That setup does make excessive noise. The stock setup also makes noise however the a/m setups are worse. The throw out bearing should have been replaced with the clutch was installed. Does not sound like a problem to me. I get people in all the time complaining about the noise. After a few installs I now let people know ahead of time what to expect.

GuysI had the same problom. I'm a mechanic by trade. I thought it was my throw out bearing aswell. Swapped it out and still getting the same deall. SOUNDS to me nissan made a shitty transmission and the internal transmission bearings are going out.I put a fidanza flywheel and such. I hear the whine from that but the rattling of the transmission is the problom.

damn, i was hoping i could get rid of the noise. It really drives me insane during the summer when its hot out. Now that you mentioned the stock setup making the same noise i remember mine doing that as well. Just not nearly as loud.
