This was important to me for two reasons:

One - Time savings
Two - My lip uses the front screws and I didn't want to pull it off each time only to reinstall it when I was through.

Here's the mod .. Hope you can make it out OK:

I know some people can squeeze their hand up that little hole to pull the plug and oil goes all over the wind deflector.... but the filter replacement is really messing without dropping this wind deflector. Just not how I do things.

I've been contemplating how to do this mod. Please look at the thread above and tell me what you think. Sorry, but I'm unable to make out what the picture is, of what you posted. It's a bit small.

At an oil change I use the 5 qt. jug of Mobil 1 10-30 synthetic. When drained and replaced with new oil I then place the old oil into the Mobil 1 container for disposal at my uncle's garage. Normally there is about 4 5/8qt. of oil in the container (of old oil) when finished. So, I'm probably burning a tiny bit and there is probably 1/8qt left in doing the drip-drip-drip, but nothing to worry about changing the oil with just front up.

I've done it this way for 80k miles (had the car since 15k). Which reminds me, only burning 1/4qt. in 3500 miles is pretty darn good for a Z with 95k on it!!
