My window, if you put it to auto roll up will go all the way up then come back down like four inches. Don't know why but thats why i bought an extended warrenty. If you got one take it in, its that simple.

yup. did you press the switch down, and hear the window clicking.. then maybe your left window motor died.. its damn expensive.. or you can just try slamming your door very hard (that works for awhile, but wont fix it). use the search button and type in your window problem, plenty of solutions

This has happened to me in my '01 Pathfinder before. The window didn't like the way I hit the up then down then up again by accident really quickly.

It wouldn't budge at all. So, I'm like great; now I have to take it to the stealership and have them fix this. It was raining which made it worse because, the window was half way down.

I waited a few minutes. Had to go into the store to get something anyways.
Came back out and I guess a relay switch must have reset it it after a few minutes. Haven't had a problem to this day. That was over three years ago now and I use it many times a day going through toll booths etc....

Dunno - If that helps the door slamming idea. I'd just wait a bit and try it again after a few minutes. If that doesn't work ..... I'd say go ahead just kick the f ... in door in. I can't handle stress very well these days. Lol !!!!!

Just had the exact problem on my '06 Touring fixed last week. Easy warranty job.

FOR GODS SAKE LEAVE IT UP!!! I had that problem, then it would just go up then come back down about 3 or 4 inches, then the motor gave out with the window DOWN. It rained and everything, but thank God for plastic bags

I ended up having to rig the window with a piece of wood just for it to stay up, but after hitting a few few bumps it would start sliding back down. Its better to just leave it up and get it checked out by the dealership and pray you have a warranty on it.

I think just about every person on this forum, including myself, has had problems with their windows. Nissan is known to have fcuked up in making the widows. Just search around and you'll have no problem finding old threads regarding this issue. Good luck to you though, its a main in the ***, lol.

I had the issue where the window goes up, then comes back down part way, but this was only using the auto-up. If I didn't use auto up and just put it up myself, then it doesn't do it. Occasionally if you open the door, then shut it, the window will come down a few, but this is rare.

I had it fixed once already, they said they "reset the window motor" and it was fine for awhile. But then it started occurring again on the same window, and I just haven't felt the need to bring it back since I can put the window up or down whenever I want.

i had both window motors replaced under warranty. The passenger side was replaced in 2003 and the driverside early 2006. I think this is a pretty common problem for cars with power windows. Had power windows problems with my 99 mercedes and 2000 VW also.

If there is one thing I hate about my car is the windows, I replaced my driver side last year and the motor was really strong.. but I'm noticing it's getting weaker already.. f'ing bs.

Your problems would be solved by far fewer dollars spent.....if you would only do a "window motor" search or just click on the link I provided.

I have an 04 and both window regulators were replaced under warranty. They would not drop the 10mm when you opened the door. Now that my warranty has expired my passengers window (after the "auto" is used to wind the window up) drops 4 " and stays there. The window does not drop the 4mm when you open the door now either. Took it to the dealer. They said $550 for a new window motor. It works when you wind it up in the non auto mode but I don't like the fact that the window wont drop when you open the door. Every time I close it, it hits the roof line. Anyone ever change a window motor ?

The window motor reset procedure needs to be done. It takes about 30 minutes to dissasemble the door to get to the reset switch. There is a good thread about the window motor problem and how to fix it for about $130 using a motor from Autozone. See this thread for instructions.
