CEL light on gas tank

CEL light on gas tank
Hey guys,
My CEL light recently came on a while after I forgot to close the gas door during a fill up. I forgot the code for the light but it was something regarding an "Evap small leak". I've reset the light twice but it still came back on.
Can anyone share some opinions on this? My gas tank/meter has that generic "not able to fill up" problem and I remember someone mentioning about the fuel sensor in the tank being defective that causes the light to come on. Also I haven't bring the car back to the dealer yet to fix the fuel hose leak recall...would that be the problem?
Please help
Thanks

Thanks. I did get the fuel hose replaced today but the light came on after around 50 clicks
this is what written on the Nissan bill " Evap Small leak"....though no code was listed on the bill.
I'm guessing it has to be the fuel sensor in the tank...might have fxxkup the sensor last when i forgot to close the lid....so it (CEL) keeps coming back on
bad thing is my warranty has already expired...that fuel sensor and labour at the dealer is going to kill me and my wallet.

Loose fuel cap = SES light that will turn off shortly after fixing the problem.
It's considered a non-fatal problem. If you're really concerned about it, visit your local auto parts store and ask if they have a ODB-II reader that you can use to read and clear the code.

faulty gas cap....let me see if i can borrow one from my fd and test out.
I remember someone on the forum saying it's the sensor in the fuel tank....but i wonder why it would cause "evap small leak"
