Default Fuel tank problems

Hey everyone!
I have a 2006 base model z and I am having the strangest problem....I can't get gas to go into the filler neck. This is an intermittent problem but my local service department has pretty much told me to go jump off a cliff. Sometimes the car will take a little gas and then the pump will cut off as though the tank is full but the guage shows that it is not. I have changed gas stations, tried different ways to double check that I'm not completely nuts but the problem remains. Anyone else experiencing similar probs? Any advice?

warranty should take care of it. Leave it at empty and have dealer fill it up for you.

That won't help him ultimately though, it won't fix the problem.

Perhaps try another dealer. This is definitely a known 350 problem & going to another gas station won't help. It happens to my Z with great frequency. Have a good look through all the TSB's (techical service bulletins), heaps listed on this site.

Thanks for the replies.....I'm going to pick up my car from the dealer this a.m.-they have had it for 2 weeks and did nothing but try 3 times to put gas in it....technical experts huh? I will keep searching for service bulletins to prove my point. Freakin' service writer had the nerve to say that since I'm female, I may not know how to properly insert the gas pump nozzle into the filler neck.........Ever feel like ripping somebodies head off??????

Hey Whats up I had this problem as well. I cant tell you how annoyed I was. I ran out of gas 4 times and brought the car in and they couldnt figure out why I couldnt fill up my tank. Turns out that the car has dual tanks and the problem is the tanks are flowing from one to the other. They ended up having to replace the tanks and the fuel pump. Now I fill up fine, but dam gas is expensive. All covered under warranty so dont let them tell you that ****!

What a relief that this is not just happening to me.....sucks that you all experienced it too, but at least that proves that the car is not the only dud in the batch. I put gas in yesterday afternoon and crossed my fingers the whole time......It took a full tank. Will be a coin toss next time though. I am planning on getting together all the info I can to bombard the a-hole dealership with to force them to fix the car under warranty. I called an out of town dealer to get a price to fix the car if I just pay for it........hold on to your hat.......about $1400.00. With only 10k on the miles....I'll hold out for satisfaction.

How many gallons do you all put in when your light comes on? The most ive EVER gotten in my car was about 15.5 gallons but in the past 6 months I havent been able to even see 13.

Last night was 12.5 gallons and needle was hovering around 1/2 a tank.
