Unhappy d.side window noise

Just developed a driver side window noise. I hate noises, thats why I got rid of my fbody. I was upset at first but this kind of stuff happens even though there is only 7k miles on it.

The noise sounds like a tapping on the window. When the window rolls all the way up it makes that sound as it's closing. It kind of sounds like the window is rolling up too far or something. You can even hear the noise when the door shuts and the windows creep up to seal up. As they seal up, you can hear the noise.

Anyone else experience this? Any thing I should look for to provide more information?

I'd love to fix this myself as I hate letting other people drive my car. I'm willing to do anything to keep my car out of the shop.

Thanks in advance!

uhh take it to the dealership and get them to fix it. The 350Z has probably the ****tiest window motor/regulator design ever.

Your motor in your window is probably f'ing up and dying already. Since you paid tens of thousands of dollars to buy your car, you should probably get Nissan to fix it?

Or you can crack open your door yourself, buy a new motor for $300 and save Nissan the trouble of doing it for you and then Nissan can go tell you to go f'ck yourself when you have the same problem in 10 months again and they void any window warranty work since you cracked open the door panels by yourself under warranty.

"oh your window doesn't work? That's too bad, maybe it's cuz you opened up your door panels and replaced the motor, tsk tsk... sorry we'll have to charge you"

well, i guess i should bring it there...
only reason im debating is because i think it's something easy to fix

i played with the window last night, now im not educated on exactly how the motor works for the window, but im pretty sure it's not the motor that is malfunctioning.

the window has just a little play in it back and forth (pushing on the outside edge of the window) so it seems like it might be a regulator or i dont know... im gona dip into the service manual for a bit before i make a decision

thanks for your opinion

Ive got the same exact problem, with the same looseness ect... In addition, if the window is rolled part way down, I can usually push on the top of it and cause it to drop .25 to .5 an inch. The passenger side window doesnt do this. Let me know what you find. I have a feeling Im going to get sh*# if I try to go to the dealership because I pulled the door panel off to do speakers.
