Default 05-up 350z tire feather?

I would like to get a Z shortly but I had a question if anyone can anwser. Did they ever fix the tire feathering issue that was found on later 350z models? My g/fs dad has an 04 and he has to put new tires (rear) every 10k miles. I also remember a lot of people complaining about this a while back but I didnt know if the 06/07's had it.

They don't. And if they do, the percentage is so small it barely a factor. But I can't think of a single 05+ that had it. The defect basically came to an end with the 2004.5 models.

My '04.5 had a tad over 50k miles on it when I sold. During that time, I replaced tires once.

Feathering didnt occur on the rear. Average life span of the Z's rear tire is around 15k miles. Your gf's dad may have a lead foot.

I have this problem with my 07. Nissan admitted it was a problem. They did my alignment and I got a new set of tires. They say they have done this on cars with up to 20,000 miles on them. BUT and a big but, if you come in and your rear tires are worn much more that the fronts they will not fix it. They said the kidz that sit out there and melt the rear tires are the cause of their own problems.

The good news it that they even gave me Yolks. instead of bridgestone.

He really doesnt drive like a jack@ss. He strolls around town like every other driver on the roads in FL (slow). No, he doesnt blame Nissan AT ALL for the tire wear. Really, he doesnt even complain about it. I just wanted to know with it was still an issue. Thanks to everyone that posted HELPFUL comments and didnt waste space on this site.
