or BlueBatmobile for some good quality vinyl overlays. I think after I get my touchscreen unit installed I'm going to invest on a full CF interior trim kit.

I have a few tiny chips on the cubby door latch thingy and a few tiny ones where the window and door lock buttons are. Pretty minor. A dab here and there with a black Sharpie does wonders.

I don't care too much if the steering wheels starts falling apart, it will give me the excuse I need to get a Momo wheel.

F%$ air bags!

I have an 07, have it for about 2 months now and same thing is happening to my steering wheel. I'm going to take it to the dealer and see what they say. If it was maybe a year i wouldn't like it but i would be more accepting of it. but 2 months only!

Mystery solved. I put a slight cut on the interior of my car with my finger nail. It really upset me. It is an 06z.

So I guess my husband will be putting a new interior in it sooner than he planned. haha

My '06 has this same problem on the driver side door panel. I thought it was my ring so I actually started grabbing my door softer but other than that, I had no idea why I had so many scratches. I'm most likely just going to buy a replacement "power window switch finisher" when I sell this car (hopefully soon).

i know where your problem is comming from, the scratches are comming from jewlery and rings and fingernails, i noticed i put one scratch on my door handle from my watch, so i make extra sure i dont hit it with my watch.
this will not be a warranty issue it will be said this is careless actions that caused the damage

I can attest to this as well, I take meticulous care of my Z and I have 2 or 3 small scratches on the interior that were made by me merely sliding my fingernail across the surface. The one on my steering wheel is particularly annoying.

I have an 05 and my steering wheel is doing the same. I'll be removing those parts soon and I'll probably paint them or wrap them in carbon fiber.

I test drove the base 06 and the interior felt tacky. When I got in an 03, the interior looked the same except the feel. I know how you 05+ owners are going thru. Luckily the base 06 test drove was for a good day to see the possitives and negatives. Probably the best way is for the 05+ report to their dealership and then it might have Nissan Corp looking at the issue. And I mean even the 05+ 350z owners that doesn't have the wear and tear issue.

I dont wear rings, watches or have nails. This is a poor quality control issue, period. I shouldnt be able to scratch the paint off my door panels or other areas of my vehicle by touching them during regular operations like rolling down windows or opening the cubby door. I wonder if heat is making the finish soft which is why it so easily peels off. The people who continue to chime in and say its abuse are ignorant and aren't helping this thread. There wouldnt be so many people saying they have this problem with NORMAL operation if it was an abuse issue.

Mine is horrible and my car has only 1000 Miles on it.

I had to buy replacements for it. I'm actually waiting on them from Jason@Riverside as we speak:

Power Window Switch Finisher: $55 each side
Power Window Switch Finisher Screw Cover Drivers Side: $5
Combination Meter Upper Finisher: $32

Oh, and the top of my speedo/rpm tach whatever was scratched, so I bought the replacement for that as well. My car is a 06, so I am kind of hoping the replacements are from the 07, or the quality issue has been solved. Soon find out.

It's definitely very hot here, and I think that makes it very easy for the vinyl spray paint, or whetaver they use to be easily scratched. I'm thinking, if it happens again, I'll put vinyl sticker over it in matte black. Should look good, and feel the same.

I know my dads volvo has the same issue. His interior looks like a cat was raped by a bear in it.
