My 2003 Touring hit the 31k mark recently and you got it, the passenger side window finally gave out. I spoke to a couple members and was informed the regulator and motor had to be replaced. I also searched abit and found some individuals were manipulating the regulator to kick in by banging on the inside of the door above the window switch while holding the switch up.
Happened to me yesterday at a local Hooter's car show. I had the window rolled down for spectators to look inside. When I packed up to leave, it never rolled back up. It just made a clicking sound. I knew the window was going out because it had been hesitating to roll up the past month. I'm gonna try banging on the door tonight. If it doesn't work I'll pick up some new hardware and make a DIY sticky out of it. I have some custom speaker/tweeter/dynomatt/wiring work done in the doors. I can't afford to have the dealership damage any of the mods.

Last night I put the key in and turn it all the way forward then pulled up on the window switch. I was about to bang on the side of the door but didn't have to. The window rolled up on it's own with no signs of stress or electrical fatigue. My guess is, the motor is good but the regulator is going out. Like others have said previously, the wiring harnest to the old style OEM regulators is substandard and the contacts become loose with time cause it to malfunction. Hence, the reason why it works when you bang on the door. I'm going to leave it as it is and worry about it when it stops working completely. When the time comes I might leave the motor in there but replace the regulator. Electrical motors/servos don't break one day then work the next. They usually have signs they are going out like burnt scents, slow to move, or whiny sounds. I'm almost positive it is the regulator, but not going to take the time to replace it until it totally ceases to function.

My window remained stuck in the down position twice this week. I used the bang on the door while depressing the window switch method both times, and it worked each time. The window rolls right back up.
OEM regulator FTL. Maybe I'll get around to replacing it sometime in the future...
Valentino those are the first signs of a bad motor and eventually it will stay stuck. I had to replace BOTH driver and passenger side motors on my Z however I am at 138k miles unlike your measly 31k miles. The motor itself is pricey from the stealership so you may have to find one used maybe in a salvage yard or something which is what I did............good luck bro

Thanks for the link.
It's still under warrenty. TAKE IT TO NISSAN. Same thing was happening to my windows, turn out it wasa malfunction, they replaced the motor for free. But be careful. GWINNETT NISSAN are bastards, so thos in ATL with this issue take it someone else. They'll do whatever they can to take your money. They wanted 125 for a diagnostic test, saying that it could be an adjustment issue.

When my motor on my passenger door went out about 2 weeks ago, I cleaned out the inside of it. One of the magnets had a scar mark on it, so I think it'll crap out again. It's been working so far, but I'm waiting for the day I get stuck at work with the window down.

Yesterday, my passenger side window goes down and then later decides its not going back up again! Arg! This thread has been very helpful to me in trying to understand my problem; however, what is the window regulator? Is it the actual door lock and window switch assembly or something entirely different?
I have an 03 Track with 25K on the clock. My driver's side window works. Both driver's side and passenger door lock buttons work; however, both driver's side and passenger side window buttons for the passenger window do nothing and I can hear a clicking sound coming from the passenger door???
Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thx.

You could clean it out or replace the motor from autozone.
