Default Handbrake concerns w/ new Z

Hi, guys. My mom got her Z last night, so I took it out for a short drive before I went to bed. I parked the car on a section of our driveway that really wouldn't be any more than 30 degrees steep, I put the handbrake on but noticed it wouldn't hold the car unless I really pulled it up tight. And even then I put it in gear.

I can't imagine that this is common amongst brand new cars 'cause, as far as I know, handbrakes don't need to be 'broken in'. I am a little concerned as I've never come across this before.
Have any of you had this same problem? Is it meant/designed to be this weak? (<<< I doubt it, but I had to ask.)

Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks,
Will

My own handbrake wasn't holding well on an incline, either.

Simply take it in for an adjustment.

mine didnt hold very well either. i had the dealership adjust it and now its better. it grabs by the second click now, whereas before it didnt until i pulled it up about 6 clicks. either way, you have to tug on the brake handle pretty firmly. also, it seems to roll back about an inch before it actually holds the car. my 300zxTT was the same way.

Thanks, guys. Yeah, I think, depending on how my mom feels, we'll either take it in for adjustment very soon, or just wait until it gets taken in for a service once the 'break-in' period is over.

(I also found some good information in this thread... People with similar experiences/problems, etc.)

Thanks, again.
