TPMS light on
The TPMS light and tire pressure has been a recurring problem for me. For the past 3 weeks, my light has gone on and off and my tire pressure has fluctuated a lot. Took it into the shop to get it checked, they said nothing was wrong and that the cold weather was why the light had come on. So I constantly check my tires to have it close to 35psi, but days later my psi has plummeted to 20-25ish for the front tires?
My tires aren't flat and there's no puncture. So I really don't understand what the problem is. The weather recently has been warm in the low to high 70's during the day. Can some PLEASE HELP.
Mine came on today, so I checked the pressure in all 4 tires...They all were right around 35psi...So I was going to disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes, but decided to wait and see if it goes off later on once it arms up...It seems that a lot of the newer toyota's have the same system with the same problems...
Mine came on last night while going around in a circle a couple of times to configure my mirror compass. I have checked all 4 tires and they were ok, a little low, around 30 but not bad. I put some air just to be sure the sensor doesn't kick in for anything under 35..but still.
Does anyone know what pressure the sensors kick in at? anything below 35?
I'm in FL so weather is not an option.

That sucks then....could I have messed something up by going around in slow circles while trying to calibrate the compass? Is there anything I can do to check on the sensors or might as well take it to the dealer.
I noticed the light came up as soon as i did 2-3 slow circles in the car...maybe I did step on somehting but it's kind of weird i would have step on somehting (eg. a nail) but yet the tire pressures are all above 30.
I drove to work which is about 10-15 miles or so and light still on so, i thought maybe after driving a couple of miles the sensor would reset itself after filling all tires up.....
I'm waiting to test all tires again with a digital gauge (I only have one of the of fashioned ones) just to be sure of the pressure.

UPDATE: I had a bloody nail in my passenger rear tire!!! LOL $10 patch and she's all better now...but I need new tires says Discount Tire (only at 16k miles). They didn't have Toyos so I opted just to goto a whole in the wall place and have them patch it til I save some $ for tires : (

My right rear tire pressure sensor reads 0 and keeps beeping at me, I was wondering if this is what happens when the batter starts to go dead in them?
If I do a donut it starts reading again but then the damn SLIP light comes on!
Anybody know a fuse to pull to disable it or can the dealership do it?

I didn't know the sensors had a battery? maybe the sensor is just bad and you need to get it replaced...shouldn't be expensive
Sorry can't help with a way of bypassing it. Mine ended up going away on its own after i did a donut and hasn't been back since.

mine came on on monday. i put air in it, and it went away.
btw, i live in NJ and its been cold here lately and mine usually light up in the cold weather. doesn't actually go away until i put air in it.

Is there any way to completely disable the TPMS? I will be swapping between the stock wheels+aftermarket ones for the cars entire life and I'm not retarded enough to have to rely on a computer to check my tires for me. I hate this damn system.
