It's probably not good to do that (leave it off while driving). I was watching best motoring on the Z and it's designed with the body to improve airflow. You might want to put it back. Also, it covers any important parts that might be damaged from road debris.

Mine doesn't cover the underside tray bolts. I have an 03, what about you?

Mine's a 35th ann. but my lip is from Evo-R. Maybe that's why. It goes pretty far into the underside (maybe 8-10 inches?).

That would definitely explain it. Mine doesn't nowhere near go that far underneath...
