Question what's going on with my break pads?

Hi,

I have these pins sticking out on my brakes.. i can't tell if this is part of the brakes caliper? or what? and what the heck do these pins do?

I noticed in the factory brakes that these pin goes into the hole... now now... don't get carried awat.. i know there are some good jokes here..

If the pins are sticking out, does it affect my brakes at all?

Any help are appreciated!

The Stainless steel "Pin" is inserted in a properly installed wear indicator. Some After market pads DONT have the indicators and some that DO have them are installed during a brake job incorrectly......Left on Right and Right on Left so the indicators are at the opposite end they should be. Its not crucial...just not Correct.
It helps somewhat in sabilizing the S/S Slider and may be of some use as a anti-squeal.

Dont lose sleep over it, next time just do it right
