Theres a few other threads about this issue, from my own personal experience... It only happens when there is direct sunlight on the tach. It will un-stick if you put your hand over the tach blocking the sun light.

I even used my cell to record it happen to show to Nissan service writers... I varied speeds and used the digital display to show the tach not moving a different speeds

Had this happen yesterday, it was very sunny, my searching brought this up. Has anyone found a cause (why the sunlight might do that), or a solution to this? Mine too was stuck for maybe 60 seconds before it released and started working fine.

Thanks!

Mine does it all the time, in the mornings heading west, and in the evenings headed east. Top Down always. It's common in the Zrs

That is such a freak problem...I never would have thought direct sunlight would effect a gauge that isnt digital.

I'm just wondering how you're getting direct sunlight on it. Makes sense in the ZR
