400-500 from a warm start and after oil pressure is down.

Both with a/c off.

900 is pretty high. Could it be because of your tune?

Not sure how much this will do or accomplish, but next time the "sputtering" occurs, could everyone SLOWLY rev between 1000-2000 and see if your engines "hickup" at 1700 RPM's. Even after the sputtering stops, i've noticed that if you rev your engine really slow not in gear, it will still produce a SMALL hickup at 1700. So the problem never really goes away, just get's drastically more mild.

I've already done this, and you're exactly right. If you pay very close attention you can feel it even moving at highway speeds. Now...having said that, I truly believe this issue to be throttle position dependant, not rpm dependant.

I've felt the hiccup at different engine speeds, but always at what I call very light throttle. I would guess at something under 5% throttle.

^ a week after ..... my problem is gone.

here are the 2 things i changed.

1 - cobb ap stage 2

2 - changed oil from motul 10w40 to mobil1 5w30 ( i did 2 changes in 1 day to do a better flush )

engine is smooth as silk at all rpms.

i will update in a few days to confirm.

I've swapped motor oil many times so i'm willing to bet it's all on your engine flash. Keep us posted.

i think you are right.... if you are tired of this "bug" 695 is a small price to pay to have it killed.

for any of you that are unsure if you have this issue or not. This is a video of what your engine will do AFTER the main sputtering occurs. Notice how the engine bogs at 1700 RPM. The car will do this for awhile until completely warmed up.

update - absolutely no more sputtering . cobb ap fixed it for me. technosquare would do the same.

bottom line - it is software ( map ) related.

what was the turn around time on your reflash? Did you have to take the ECU out and mail it?

**** man i remember reading this thread a coupl days ago and was like wtf is up with their car.
right now i got in my car and what do you know bam it happens, so i come into this thread....

i have an 06 with nismo and test pipes. i put one sparkplug there and need to get another so im not sure if it is the sensors that is causing this or if its the water.

over the past week here in oc has been raining so maybe some water has got into my tank? Now i dont know which it might be water in gas tank or sensors for the test pipes...

edit it doesnt seem to go up and down like that video but it seems to be idle at 2,000 rpm

little update for the rest of us.

i was absolutely sure that the flash fixed my problem.... until i drained mobil 1 and put back motul 10w40. as soon as i did that problem came back. i then drained 10w40 ( $$$ ) and replaced it with also motul but 5w30 - and guess what ? no more sputtering....

so would someone explain this to me ?

also, if you look on g37 forums, you will find that nissan made and patented an ester based oil that they recommend to use in vvel engines to fix the problem that we are having. WTF !~

I am using Motul 300v Chromo (change it every 500 to 750 miles) .. and have the AAM reflash and still experience the sputtering.

^^ Yes the check engine light or service engine light does come on. It last until the car has warmed up. Does not go above 2,000. It sits around 1700-2000

Could this be the cuz of not getting the foulers. I have one on each side but i need 2 one each side so i am getting that tomorrow
