The last time i was at Nissan they asked if I wanted to schedule my 30k service. Last time i checked the 30k service did not include much, actually they CHECKED mostly everything (fluids, brakes, etc..) and actually don't fix much if any..pls correct me if i am wrong.

I was hesitant to say yes then the service guy said.."I notice that you have the extended 100k mi warranty, u know the first thing we look at when warranty issues turn up is to see if you have kept up with your services."..although this may sound logical, the idea of paying a couple hundred dollars for them to LOOK at my fluids is rediculous. He continued and said that i didn't even have to get it done at nissan, as long as i have documentation showing that i had it done somewhere.I even remember reading a thread here saying that dealerships actually laugh at ppl who pay for the 30k. Worth it or not??

never worth it. If you look at the list of what they do and the price you are going to pay, it's rediculous. You can pay me 1/4th of that price and i'll do it for you.

I know most dealerships dont' do all of this so you will have to get a copy of what they will do from the dealership you are goign to.

This is from nissan's website for the 30k check up, exclude the ones where it says 4wd/awd

Replace engine oil and filter
Lubricate all locks/hinges
Lubricate propeller shaft (4WD) 1
Road test vehicle
Replace automatic transmission/CVT fluid
Replace differential oil (limited-slip, conventional) 2
Replace engine air filter
Replace engine coolant/flush system
Replace engine coolant
Replace engine drive belts
Replace free-running hub grease 3
Replace front wheel bearing grease (4WD only) 4
Replace fuel filter 4
Replace in-cabin microfilter 5

I usually sit around with a copy of what's getting done.
I watch them and check off whatever they're doing.
It's worked out well. I feel I got my full money's worth. I bring in my own oil tho.

i tried searching for the price at the local dealership here but i couldn't find one. How much did you guys pay for the service if you had it done at Nissan? What's the general price?

i had this coupon book that the nissan dealership sent me through the mail. I think it was either 150 or 300, i can't remember.

I'm at 39K but they charged me $350 for the service on my 350. I kinda felt raped being that's a whole car note for me.

most of the stuff SuperBlack350z posted is incorrect. it must be for some different service. that list includes replacement of belts water pump timing belt and fuel filter(in tank not serviceable) , spark plugs.none of that stuff is applicable. that sounds more like a 100k on a QX4

only thing you actually need to do at 30 is Coolant and balance tires.obviosly rotation is not applicable. essentially thats all dealer does besides oil change. cabin filters too but i cant remember if z's have it. then rest of the stuff is just a big check list.

PS i assumed your car is a 6spd but if its auto get a trans flush done.
