Default Is this common??... Grinding sound during Startup

My car runs fine. But... when I start it up in the mornings, it makes this weird sound when I engage into gear. The sound occurs only when I am feathering the clutch up to engage into 1st gear or reverse or just putting it back into neutral. It makes a loud grinding sound...as if the flywheel is rubbing against something. This only happens when the car is cold. When the car is warmed up, the sound is non-existant. A friend told me this was common with all the Zs on a cold start up. Is this true?

Its never happened on mine in almost 5 years.

Is it coming from engine or tranny?

It comes from the tranny, perhaps from the flywheel. Sounds like a whirling/rubbing sound. Only occurs when the motor is cold.

is it it maybe grinding into gear because the clutch isn't releasing all the way? maybe bleed the clutch or adjust it.
