I'm getting my windows tinted in a few weeks and I have the "greasy streaks on the windows". I haven't gotten them fixed yet because I'm worried that the dealer creating rattles or anything else.

Will the window grease scratch the tint if I decide NOT to get the "greasy window streak" fix? Has anyone had any problems?

I had tint for only a week before fixing the grease streak. That was long enough to put a small scratch in the tint from top to bottom. Not very noticeable at all, but that was after only a week. I'd get it fixed asap.

 

Had tint for like 4 months... and I have a bit of the grease issue.

Not a problem. No scratching of any kind.. it's just oily once in a while.

 

Had my windows tinted for about a month before I had the grease streak fix done. I didn't scratch the tint up, but then again, the grease streaks annoyed me so much that I didn't roll the windows down that often.

 

Has my windows tinted immediately. 6 months later, still grease, no scratches.

 

My car is in for service right now....my tint is scratched on both windows.....at first I thought it was mostly grease but now windex will not remove the marks and you can feel slight ridges in the tint with your fingernail. Hopefully the dealership will get this problem resolved soon.

 

Have tint. Have major grease. Have not had grease fixed. Will not.

The two coexist happily.

 

noticed hardcore scratching on my tint after the window grease TSB was applied.
