Question squeaking clutch

Everytime I push in my stock clutch it makes a small squeak sound. I know this is a minor problem but it gets annoying after a while. Can I just lubricate it somehow/somewhere to get rid of the noise?

been discussed several times. Nissan will grease the clutch mechanism inside the cabin which helps some people, but if your like myself which the squeak comes from underneath the car, i suspect a throw out bearing. Ive tried pulling the tranny boot back and shooting some lube up in there but it didnt work for long. Get used to it, because it comes and goes with the change of temperature and doesn't affect anything long term. Lets just say it would be an expensive fix. Good luck with things.

I've been experiencing the same problem, where the sound was coming from underneath the car.
I guess I'll have to get my throw out bearing checked as soon as possible.

Thanks for your input HondaKiller, and good luck to you orangeflash.

I'll be crawling under my '03 to see if I can diagnose it; I just haven't felt like doing it. I've had my car since new and it started to develop the sqeak about four months ago. Its not in the pedal, its underhood, and from the little bit I could see when I had a friend press the clutch when I was under the car the noise seems to be coming from around the clutch master cylinder. When I get some answers I will post in this thread.

Where is the squeak coming from, specifically?

With mine it is coming from .. I should probably get a picture. I'll probably use the wrong terminology - but the moving part attached to the trans under the car. It was squeaking right in my ear as I was under there bleeding the clutch.

That would be your slave cylinder. But right in that area is where the clutch fork pivots and all the magic happens.

It can be
1)Throwout bearing sleeve squeaking on the transmission input shaft
2)The clutch fork squeaking on the throwout bearing sleeve
3)Clutch fork squeaking on the pivot ball
4)The slave piston squeaking as it pushes on the fork (unlikely)
5)The slave itself squeaking
6)The clutch spring assy squeaking
7)Clutch squeaking as it moves along the trans input shaft

Note the FSM call for specific lube points, and many of the above are unlikely.

All old responses in this thread that say this can be the throwout bearing should be ignored lol, they dont realize it is pressed onto a sleeve which slides on the transmission input shaft...so unless its a rotational squeaking heard only when the clutch is depressed a bad bearing has no relevance to this topic.

I'd say the throw out bearing I would think for someone to check it out they would have to take out the transmission out and you might as well change the throw out bearing and the cluch. I will say that I bought the clutch kit before I started changing the throw out bearing and when I got the Transmission out the clutch really didn't need changing, but I did anyway. If you have the time and know how to work on cars this job is about a 6 . This site and youtube have all the information you need to do the job. Good Luck

It's number 3.
I've sprayed copper anti-seize on my fork pivot ball once every year for 5 years, hasn't even thought about squeaking since.

Is it possible to grease the fork pivot ball without having to drop the transmission?
