my z is using 2 quarts of oil a week
ok so a while back i installed jvt test pipes in place of the stock cats on my 03 z, they sounded great, great power increase but it was throwing out white smoke and i had no idea why. i waited for 3 weeks to see if the smoking would stop but it didnt. So i checked my oil one day and it was like 3 quarts low so i installed the stock cats and took it up to the dealer to have it checked still under warranty. They made me do 3 oil comsuption test and told me not to put any oil in it. Well each time after 500 miles i would take it back to the dealer and it would be about 3 quarts low after 500 miles. Today the were suppose to do a compression test on it i guess to test the piston rings but i havent heard back from them yet. My question is they may try to just replace the rings besides replacing the entire engine, would there be any other damage done to the engine from running that low on oil for that long that many times if so i will not accept replace rings only a replaced engine since they are the ones that told me not to put oil in it. One time the oil was barely reading on the dip stick but they didnt want me to add oil, can anyone help me out

There is no way that they will tear it down to replace the rings---That just cant be done unless your a maniac. If you are covered under warranty then they will replace the engine---Its just dollars and cents common sense
You didnt mention how many miles you have on it

it has 59000 and it under extended warranty, i bought it from carmax and its under a company called maxcare but i know they are going to try to get out the cheapest way but you were saying that replacing the engine would be cheaper
