Default strange problem...engine randomly shutting off

This has happened to me twice now. I'll be in third gear...holding it around 30mph...and my engine will just shut off. All the lights on the dash come on. And when i crank it back over, it starts right up with no hesitation. My SES light is not on, and it is stock under the hood besides a k&n intake.

Any advice? Could the car be throwing codes right now even though my warning light is not on?

Check the battery terminal? It might be loose and might have moved around when you hit a bump! And if its dirty clean it off really good with a wire brush!

Check the car for stored codes. Sometimes it doesn't throw a cell light. I've had it happen a few times.

A long shot, but I had this problem in an old car and it was the ignition switch (behind the key lock cylinder)

if the check engine light is OFF... autozone CANNOT check it... their code readers only check for codes that are ON... no stored codes...

*i work there.

Default stalling

are you coasting at 30mph?..if so.. check the idle learn it may be idling to low and the iac is not picking it up quick enough.

IAC could be bad. I don't think they will throw a code either.

The Nissan 350z doesn't have an IAC valve; it uses a system called ISC (Idle Speed Control), which uses the dbw throttle body to control the idle speed. If you really think something is wrong in that area, then the Electronic Throttle Control Actuator is the area you want to check. I would start by checking for a vacuum leak first and then go to the ETCA.
