Default New clutch feels almost worn out?

Barely has 350 miles on the new clutch, but it's engaging when the pedal is almost completely released. It's an OEM clutch. Can the clutch engagement point be adjusted in any way?

Or did I screw up the clutch already in only 350 miles? Lol. Only stalled it a few times, honestly. Do OEM clutches screw up that quickly?

Thanks!

at least wait until the clutch is broken in. At 350 miles, it's hard to tell. Brand new 350z's pedal releases all the way at the top anyways.

Really now, are you sure? It feels as though the clutch is almost completely worn out already because of this. Maybe I'm just paranoid?

actually i just installed a clutch in my boys 06, but did not go back stock. there was hardly any pedal at all. i had to make a new slave cylinder pin. jack up the car and where the slave cylinder runs into the arm and see if there is any slack. they actually make an adjustable pin.

if you use the search thread there is actually a clutch height engagement point mod that you can do to your z to allow the clutch to engage at a lower poitn making the car much easier and faster to shift and driev with in traffic. Do a search for that and you may be able to adjust the height and fix the problem.

I didn't do the install; dealership did. I'm assuming they would bleed it. I've had a new clutch, flywheel, master cylinder and slave cylinder installed in the last two weeks.

Just had the same done last week.. have about 300 miles since install of new OEM clutch and new OEM transmission (3rd gear made a slight grind every now and then- nissan dealer yanked the trans and put a new one in under warranty- I'm still shocked as all hell.) Clutch was SUPER touchy when new- now is very soft and seems to engage kind of late. I'm comparing this to the new clutch feel and my old trans/ clutch with 40K.... I liked my 40K clutch better. I think I'll do this mod over the next weekend with adjusting the pedal- seems liek what I need.

Thanks!! A just to throw out a plug, Victory Nissan of Macomb, MI is the best!

I tried the mod, it didn't really help much, believe it or not. My 3rd gear is grinding once in a while when I put it in too! What did they tell you was causing that, and what year is your Z?

Didn't say what the exact cause was, just "Failed Synchros- metal shavings in case."- it's an 06' with 42K.

My 2nd gear every now and then crunches since they put it in.. I like to think it's just break in... but...
