Default Crazy sound when turning

I have an '03 and my lease is up in 4 months so I really don't want to sink a lot of money into my Z if I can help it (warranty was up a couple of years ago).

The car runs great, but when I turn the wheel I hear a weird sound like something is rubbing together.

This happens no matter what speed I am going.

I checked the PS fluid and it was above the cold max line (and it was a cold day).

About a month ago I replaced both front tires, but it don't remember hearing the sound then and I think it just recently started (or suddenly got more noticable).

Any ideas what this could be?

Could be the PS pump taking a dump.

That sounds like the most likely candidate. Does anyone have any idea how expensive that may be?
