Unhappy Alignment problems

Just wondering of anyone else has had a "grinding" sort of noise from the front. After my second time back to the dealer, they explained to me that Nissan had announced that some Z models have alignment issues and that there was a TSB for it. They cross rotated the tires, and rebalanced them, becasue they did say there was some abnormal wear on the inside of the tires. Seems better but not fixed completly yet.

I am on my 2nd Z(1st one totalled in accident)
This new one made 03/03, has serious alignment problems at 100 miles on the odo...they will do the TSB thing and also are replacing the 2 front tires....I know about this since my old 350z handled so much differently(better) I think a lot of buyres are unaware of it.

I bought new tires at 12K. Had the car alligned and was still within Nissan specs. the original tires did not have abnormal wear, cupping, feathering or any uneven wear.

Unhappy

I had issues with feathering on both front tires. I didn't notice it untill about 6k miles when the road noise started. They sent it out for new allignment and left to right rotation. I am still waiting on the new tires to be installed. I was told they were on backorder for 30 days. It has now been 2.5 months and they just showed up. At least Nissan is paying for them.

Default Alignment ----- twice so far

The tires started to feather at 5k. I took the car in and they realigned the Z. One thousand miles later, still no better... I took the Z in yesterday and stated that the car still pulls to the right/ wheel hop and the wheel is off a few degree's. The car will be ready for pick-up this afternoon.....

So I won't hold my breath and I'll report back tmorrow.

They rebalanced my tires again about 300 miles ago, and it still doesn't seem right. They keep telling me "it'll take some some time before the tires start to wear evenly" ...

Mine also seems to pull slightly to the right and my wheel also seems to be off a few degrees as well. It wasn't before I took it in last, so I'm wondering if that has something to do with the alignment/rebalancing they did last time. The wheel seems slight cocked to the right.

Let Me know how you made out....I'm very interested!

Thanks

Wes

Humpa.....

Picked the Z up yesterday afternoon. The service mgr road tested my car and agreed the wheel being off was unacceptable (Survey Points). He conducted ANOTHER alignment!!! This time the wheel was straight and the car drove pretty good. I'm going to run it hard tonight since it was raining yesterday. On the drive to work this morning I still felt that I was having to fight the wheel with my left hand..... Then again it might be the coffee.

I'll report tomorrow.

Good luck!!!
