I'm changing my wheels/tires twice a week and can't stand that damn stock jack. What do you guys use for a jack when swapping tires for racing on a weekly basis? I was looking under yahoo and found the AC Hydraulics low profile 3" minimum height jack with the long reach but at about $425 shipped, I was hoping to find another cheap alternative. None of the other cheap jacks that I've found have low enough clearance, especially when I get the coilovers and have 16" race wheels/tires.

Any ideas besides that damn stock jack?

 

I use a cheap floor jack and some simple 2x4 ramps to get the jack under the front of the car. Harbor freight tools has a liteweight race jack for 159 right now.

the site specifies up to 3000 lb's.....the z weighs more...

 

This would only apply if you were to lift your Z completely off the ground on all 4 corners. Each corner of the Z when lifted only weighs just over 800 lbs.

 

Thanks for the input, I knew there was a simple solution. I guess now I'll have an extra 3 bills for upgrades!!!

 

Harbor Frieght has a nice alum jack for 165 bucks, has a nice low lift point and will hit the rails of the Z easily with 35 profiles on, will even lift the whole side of the car off if you place it about where the shifter is.

I got the lowest profile Craftsman floor jack I could find.

I'll have to check the box, but I think it goes down to 4.5" or so.

I fits under the side jack points and the rear diff, but it won't fit under the front jack point. The other problem is that it won't lift the car high enough to fit my jack stands under.

It's perfect for changing tires and brake pads though, plus it came in it's own plastic case, so it's easy to take to events and stuff.

I think it was about $30 or so.

If you cant get under it with a 3.1" jack then i think you're basically screwed, but some rhino ramps are nice too, can drive right up on them.
