I Would say go ahead and do that search for the DIY.....sounds like it will help you.

as far as if you should: depends on if you wanna spend the money or spend the time doing it yourself.

The dealership did my last oil change. The car was in for something else, so I took a chance and let them change the oil while I was there. No issues so far.

I'm not lazy, it's just easier to bring in the Royal Purple & have the dealership change the oil for me. What a pain in the a$$ to remove the the panel under the engine to get acccss to the oil filter.

i wouldn't recommend paying for a synthetic oil change from anyone. Will cost you near a $100.

Changing oil on the Z is no harder than any other car. Only ***** about it is jacking the car up. Once it's up, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REMOVE THE SPLASH GAURD. Thats nonsense. there is clear access to your oil drain bolt and you will be able to reach your hand up there to untwist the oil filter. It's not as easy as a truck for say, but definatly not overly hard just because its a 350z. Give it a try!

At the local pep Boys you can purchase a Mobil 1 sysnthetic oil change kit for $29.99 everyday of the year, 5 QTS Mobil 1 synthetic 5-30 wt and a oil filter.

I just prefer to take better care of my car due to the harsh conditions of the SW United States. As for not removing the splash guard, yes I can remove the oil filter without removing the splash guard while getting oil all over it. I prefer a clean & oil free enging compartment. To each his own though.

Wherever you feel comfortable.

I get mine done at a local Jiffy Lube. I know the staff, and stay with the car. I also tip $5. The car is always returned clean.

I have yet to replace the crush washer. Haven't had a leak yet. I think it is unnecessary to change the washer on every oil change. My opinion of course.
