Default Anyone else hear "clicking" noise from tranny in low speeds?

I hear this clicking noise alot now. When I am driving slow in my parking structure for work. I'm wondering if it's normal.

yup i get that too.. in first gear and reverse. Some people have found out that it was their wheel lugs not torqued correctly. Could be different for every1 else. But i dunno.. doesn't really bother me unless i'm in the garage cuz it bounces off the wall and makes it louder

I hear something only when slow roll from a stop. Its very noticable to be the RIGHT side of the car only.. and yes.. you need to be near something reflecting the sound to be heard.

Look for raceboy's thread on it as well.. a few guys have had their rear axel's checked out at the dealer with sucess. Mine is at the dealer now awaiting a tranny, but this sound is on my hit list as well.

I describe it as a creaking, 'gravel' or 'rocks in a can' sound.

At any speed, its unnoticable.. but from a stop, its very noticable.

i get it in my right rear only it clicks when i accelerate from first and second and when i decelerate in first and second. Its a clicking sound! My lugs are tight, could they be too tight? ive got 6,000 miles on the Z too. grrrrr. I think i am going to retorque the lugs tonight for starters.

I called my dealer and they had no clue, never heard of this before.

It's not in the lugs (rims), it's the rear axle. People have been taking the car to the dealers to have them tighten the lugs in the axle.

I just got off the phone earlier today with Nissan customer affairs, they got back to me to let me know that there is no official fix yet for this problem. It does seem to be the rear axles and by lubricating them and tightening them seems to get rid of the noise. But what happens when the lubrication wears out again

I figure I might as well just wait for a official bulletin and one for my loose driver's seat before I bring the car in to get them both repaired. I rather not bring the car in for a temporary fix if that's the case

Here you go Bullish..

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=37212

There seems to be about a dozen threads on this topic now.. ugh.

I really don't want to go back to my dealer.. but I probably will before my next oil change now.
