Default Vents ALWAYS Blow Heat??

Probably a dumb question, but my 06ZR never blows outside temperature air from the vents or floorboard: It's always blowing hot or heated air even if the setting is in recirculate. I've never had a car before that did this and the stealer says it's "Normal", which I find hard to swallow.

Is there a setting that just pulls in outside air to the cabin area without pre-heating it? I bought it used and it's always done this but I have a hard time believing that Nissan would design a car that always has the heat on or no ventilation at all.

Thanks, Terry in NC

my 05 will continuously blows air even when off, if the temp is set higher than the air it will heat it up before blowing into the cabin also. i believe this is actually normal on these cars.

I have the air temperature and airflow set as low as they will go to keep the heat down. Even with the top down driving down I85/I40 you can cook in the interior.

By heating I'm talking about a 10+ degree rise in temberature: It's just flat out hot. Without the top down you just about have to run with the air conditioning on.

Common. Any air pulled from outside will increase in temperature. In other words if the ambient temperature is 70 degrees, that air vented into the car will be about 75 degrees.

I close my vents (doesn't stop all of the air but it's better than nothing) and keep the air set to recirc and cool.

My 08 does the same thing with the climate control off. I am OCD so I like the temp gauge at 75 since it is right in the middle. If I turn it down to 60 it won't blow hot air. Also my previous RSX did the same thing too.

I think this is normal in all cars. I have yet to sit in a car that doesnt have some sort of air coming in through the vents while in motion.

I think what pisses me off more is the fact that my car decides to change between recirc and fresh air on its own. I set to recirc when i drive through areas that I know smell a bit funky, 3 minutes later it decides I was wrong and really want fresh air now. Really gets annoying.
