Default Clear bra UNINSTALL

My car is used so the clear bra is starting to get really off color...
I have typed in search box for "clear bra", "uninstall clear bra", "clear bra how-to" but came up with nothing...I should have searched more?

But here is the question anyway while I am getting the flame suit on:
-How do I uninstall the clear bra ? Heat gun or Hair blower?
-Would that damage my paint ?
-Should I get it done professionally?

i had to recently remove the clear bra off my 98 m3 bcs it too was turning yellow and peeling on the corners. i used a blow dryer and slowly started heating from one corner. make sure u dont pull at a 90degrees angle. pull at a 35degrees SLOWLY while heating the bra. im about half way done. its just time consuming.

Hey, we actually do this at my Tint shop. The best thing to get is a Jiffy Steamer. Heatgun will probably work but steamers add water to the mix to ensure a smooth removal.

thanks for the info, guys!
where do I get this Jiffy Steamer and is it expensive? Should I just go to a tint shop and ask them to remove it for me instead? I still prefer to do it myself, hehe.

It looks like OEM clear bra or whatever, lol.
The car is 2003, purchased in 2002 (from the record)
I am the third owner and it's 2008 so I guess it's time for that clear bra to discolor?

I am thinking about removing my Clear Bra as well (installed since Nov 2003) and it's turning yellow. I searched google and came up with this as Jiffy Steamer, is this it? http://www.amazon.com/Jiffy-Steamer-.../dp/B0000665TD $149

The newer films are better about not yellowing. I imagine he had an older film... and then there is no telling who the manufacturer was. A steamer or heat will help remove it. You might try washing it with dawn first. Sometimes wax will build up in the film and cause it to yellow. The film is porous so it will absorb whatever you are using on it. Soak it with Dawn and see how it comes out. If you get another bra put on I recommend using a good carnuba wax or something like Zaino.

I have taken a lot of these older films off before installing new film. it can be a pain sometimes. Good luck and have fun. Make sure to have some 3M adhesive remover ready to get the excess adhesive off.

I left mine the car out in the sun for most of the day, and when it was warm, it came off pretty easy. Won't hurt the paint, as long as you're not ripping it off. Gently and slowly pull it off, in a smooth motion, without jerking the film, and you should be fine.

thank you for all the helps, guys!
I will try with Dawn first, if it does not work I will then try to take it off after a sunny day.
If it still does not work well I then will try with the heat/hair blower thing.

Considering the Jiffy Steamer or profesional tinter as last options since it costs more with them, hehe!

However, you guys are great, thanks again !
